Saintfield Striders is a newly formed running club, established in October 2016, associated with Saintfield Sports Club. At Saintfield Striders it's all about improving running, fitness and having fun. We are open and welcoming to all abilities.
Coached sessions take place every Monday night (19:30), meeting at Saintfield Sports Club (hockey pitch). Qualified Leaders in Running Fitness take the sessions which are varied and fun and designed to improved running techniques, stamina, speed and build strength.
For great fun and to meet new running friends, please feel free to join us. Running in a group is so much more enjoyable than those solo slogs, so don't hesitate - come on down, you will love it!
We join in Parkruns every Saturday morning in the locality (usually Comber, Stormont, Ormeau or Wallace Park but there are plenty more). These 5k timed, walk/jog/runs are an excellent opportunity to get to know other runners from the area. The social side is great!
As a group we will also enter various 'races' across the country, to compete or just to have fun.
We are affiliated to Athletics NI and adhere to their rules, so by joining us you can rest assured that the club is correctly managed, with qualified coaches looking after you. You will be registered with Athletics NI and be able to get discount on any running events being promoted by them. You will also automatically become a member of Saintfield Sports Club and be able to avail of the facilities which the club have to offer.
